Brazilian Agate Lampshades

Using all-natural Brazilian Agate and Geode stones, each lampshade is one-of-a-kind. The beautiful characteristics of the stones are showcased — unique shapes, sizes and amazing colors — and their translucent qualities create an ambient light that enhances its surroundings.

Hand-selected to create a theme for the shade, the sliced and polished stones are assembled on molds in a free-form arrangement. The agates are bonded with solder and a dark copper or black patina is applied. Stained glass fills the voids between the stones to add strength and beauty. It is a time-consuming process and larger lampshades take 50 to 70 hours to complete.

These Tiffany stained glass-inspired shades are paired with quality vintage and vintage-look bases, which are often finds at flea markets and antique stores. A variety of lamps are available for purchase in my Etsy store, and at Peacock's Perch in Fort Collins, Colorado.
